Just wrapped up myself. I've written other feedback so I'll try to not repeat too much.
6 & 7. Agree, the endings felt anti-climatic given the build up and intensity. I'm hoping BR have still to put in some end cut scenes. We see the control ships warp out could we not expand on the Surveyor's findings a bit to justify doing the bomb. On the other ending it would help to know what the beam does, is it spreading through the entire network? Is there a goal? Could the ghostly apparitions take control of the ships, drone and push out the AI's?
Really enjoyed the combat near the end, the top tier Sniper felt just right, capable of taking down a single shielded drone but not a group. Taking down the turrets took a whole clip and no longer felt grindy (need more visual feedback though with lower tier weapons as again it feels like you're not even doing damage). I'd certainly say keep it at this level and only increase the number of droids to up the difficulty level. Maybe even ramp up the power of the weapons on lower tiers (or lower the enemy's health/armour) and just tweak the capacity and reloading to balance.
I still felt a bit bored at times walking from A to B. I'm sort of glad we could see the whole map, I'd imagine if I didn't know I was nearing the end I may have given up at some point, so a good choice there. I know assets don't grow on trees but I'd have like to have more variation on enemy units, hack them and get upgrades for yourself and the Surveyor Drones, even locating technology to upgrade the Surveyors in unmarked areas.
The above two points feed into another post. That being the ability to spawn your units with the doohickey. And it being a given item not part of your weapon load out. You can then ramp up encounters, really, the battle sounds are flipping awesome and the areas so expansive it's just great to fight. Although I do understand if players are hindered too much, or worse, die, then exploration suffers. Toughy but I think being able to call droids/aerial in would be a good addition even if rarely needed.
Going to sleep on the rest and write up a preliminary review tomorrow. One last thing, I'd like the story more in your face. The control information that comes up at the bottom of the screen is good but I think it would be better if it paused the game and was front and center. Several times it came up mid fight and I had to choose to read and die or fight and miss it. Please add these comms to the log too.
